dave’s basement
Let’s hide from the world! “Dave’s Basement” is a solo sketch comedy show that premiered at the Siren Theater as part of the Portland Fertile Ground Festival in April of 2025. Mr. Basement invites you to head on down into his concrete palace of the mind. Featuring a fitness instructor who teaches you how to “Stay Alive,” the ghost of every mistake you’ve ever made in your life, a performance from world famous electronic musician Soniculus, the “Brain-A-Lyzer” and more!
D&D Sketch comedy
A sketch comedy duo with David Burnett. Based primarily out of The Siren Theater where we work under the expert direction of Shelley McClendon. Described by someone once as “Smart and strange.” Some of our sketch titles include: The Hall of History, Boring Dream, Stakeout Cops, Credo Guys, The Bigfoot Presentation, Who’s Gonna Fight Me?, Bikini Barista, and The Master’s Table. Performed at the Portland Sketch Comedy Fest, the Seattle Sketch Fest, the Portland Mercury’s 2019 Undisputable Geniuses of Comedy Show [sic], and more.
Dave’s Basement (Live Stream)
During the COVID lockdown of early 2020, I launched and hosted a weekly streaming variety show (of a video nature) called Dave’s Basement with a few other collaborators. It was an attempt to, in my own small way, give people a venue to show creative work, a place to gather with friends and like minded folks, and a reason to keep creating things while the world was, seemingly, falling apart. It was one of the most gratifying things I’ve ever done, and producing a weekly show like this with no real budget and a handful of collaborators (who were all isolated from one another in quarantine) called on me to use every single skill I have (and many I don’t!).
